Technologically the world has become so advanced that the imaginary futuristic gadgets used in the movie “Star Trek” of the sixties are out of date today at the same time the basic necessities of life like clean water is becoming scarce and in some parts of the world people and animals are forced to drink from the same pond. In some areas people, mostly women, carry water in pitchers on their heads for many miles, in some places rain water is collected and used for washing up.
Crescent Relief (London)
has been working on projects of providing clean drinking water in places where clean water was not available. We have built storage tanks and installed many miles of pipes to transport water from natural springs to villages; we have also helped in boring tube wells and installing hand pumps and electric submersible pumps.
To sponsor a project of clean water would be the best form of Sadqa Jaria (ongoing charity), especially for the people who have passed away and the only benefit they will receive, from this world, would be from the investment in Sadqa Jaria on their name.
